Wild Geese Building and Maintenance Group Pty Ltd was formed in Feburary 2005 after the amalgamation of our Darwin and NSW/QLD office.
The company founding director Mr Patrick Hewitt, developed the business based on creating long term sustainable Employment for Aboriginal Australians while creating National accredited training outcomes during their employment. Wild Geese Building Group have been able to develop a strategic alliance with Batchelor Indigenous Institute Northern Territory whom have the responsibility to develop suitable training packages and skill sets for each individual.
The companies original origins began back in 2001 under the Company name of Success Management Institute trading as Wild Geese Aboriginal building and Maintenance Group.
And after many years of fine tuning the process to ensure suitable win -win outcomes for all our trainees and Apprentices while also promoting the Company Mission Building Foundations for the Future directly to Land Councils, Indigenous Housing Authorities in NT, WA. Department of Commerce and Aboriginal Affairs NSW.
The company was successful in attaining contracts in the Northern Territory and NSW in 2003 and 2004.
The company has since grown considerably and have been able to create sustainable Employment for Many Aboriginal and Non Aboriginal employees over the last several years with to date 3 of our Aboriginal Carpenters receiving qualifications and a further 6 Aboriginal Apprentices nearing or completed Certificate III.
The Company aims to be the leader in Project Management Design and Construct for remote regions across Australia, while ensuring All Aboriginal persons are given a fair opportunity for long term employment and training.
Patrick is the Founder and Managing Director of Wild Geese Building and Maintenance group. In 2001 Patrick and his wife saw the need to develop a strategy for long term sustainable employment for Indigenous Australians, so Wild Geese was created.
Andrew WatkinsAndrew is currently the Operations Director/Manager of Wild Geese. Previously to Wild Geese, he worked as a carpenter for various builders in remote areas along the top end of Australia. In 2003 he became the Branch Manager of Wild Geese.
